It is called My Protection and has been developed and produced by the Treviso-based JB Tech. It works with a made in Italy technology based on the emission of sound frequencies with 4 levels of ultrasound that keeps female mosquitoes away and is equipped with a wick soaked in organic essential oils for further protection against male mosquitoes.
TREVISO.For those who do not know, there are 60 species of mosquitoes in Italy, and each specimen has a life cycle of about 7 days, during which it sucks a quantity of blood that can be equal to its own weight.
They mainly take it from humans, but probably not because ours is more appealing, but because almost all pets, from the beginning of spring to late autumn, wear anti-insect and parasite devices. Humans, on the other hand, do not, or at least not systematically.
Hence the choice ofJB Tech, a Veneto company based in the province of Treviso, to developMy Protection, a device capable of keeping mosquitoes away, without using chemical agents that can cause irritation or allergies, and that do not need to be applied to the skin.
The device, practical and easy to use, CE certified, tested and certified by doctors, is non-toxic and eco-friendly and works with a made in Italy technology, based on the emission of sound frequencies with 4 levels of ultrasound.
My ProtectionIt is based on the behaviour of the female mosquito, which bites in search of blood to nourish its eggs. During this period, the female avoids the male, so the device simulates the sound emitted by the male during flight, keeping the female away. Additionally, the wick soaked in a mix of 7 organic essential oils provides further protection by masking the scent emitted by human skin, also keeping male mosquitoes at bay.
«Many mosquito repellents contain pyrethrum, a substance derived from a plant in the Composite family, but for commercial reasons, pyrethrum is often replaced by synthetic pyrethroids, which serve the same function but persist more in the environment. Others contain icaridin, which can cause toxicity issues, so these products should be applied to small areas or on clothing, but also DEET, which is a strong insect repellent but is not recommended for children under 12, as it can cause skin irritation and, if absorbed, can be toxic – explains Dr.Mario Canciani, who, together with Dr.Teresa De Monte, has developed this formula, completely non-toxic, environmentally sustainable, and effective – My Protection is a device with a range of at least 3 metres, which can be attached to a backpack during a hike, placed on a table, on a windowsill, or wherever you like, managing to keep mosquitoes away without any side effects or risk of poisoning».
Once purchased, only the battery status needs to be monitored, which should be changed after 4,000 hours of operation.
A feature that, in the long term, makes it not only a greener choice than traditional chemical insecticides, but also more economical. Once the device is turned on, it does not turn off again unless the appropriate button is pressed. The device is also safe for people who have a pacemaker.
